crossing the water like Moses =) (wait, never mind)
So last week Fabian got ants in his pants, and decided we needed to do something for my Spring Break since we didn't do anything for his. I chose and planned camping/ hiking in Big Sur since he had never been and I had only driven by once. It was absolutely gorgeous, but word to the wise, las palabras of the weekend ended up being horse poop and poison oak. If there wasn't horse poop on the trails, there was poison oak. We ended up unofficially naming our favorite trail, the poopoak trail or the oakscat path. It was a little exhausting being so vigilant, but it was definitely worth it. Especially because neither of us got struck by the dreaded leaves of three. (Sorry we didn't shoot a picture of the poop but this is what it would have looked like. Thanks google). Yay Big Sur!
In the immortal words of Ice Cube, "today was a good day." It was Earth Day, I got asked to be a summer T.A., and I found out I passed the portfolio review for the UCSC art program. Yay for me! Below is my acceptance letter.
The class I'm T.A.ing will be taught by the fabulous Angela Gleason. It is a hybrid class combining jewelry and printmaking. Pretty exciting. If you live in the area you should think about taking it. I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun.
Next Monday I have to turn in a porfolio of my past work to UCSC as a requisite for acceptance into the art program. Scary! The slideshow is of the works I've compiled for evaluation. To view on a larger scale click one of the pictures. Any constructive criticism and feedback would be much appreciated if you have the time. Thank You!
If you didn't figure it out MAB is for Megan Alexander Batista. If you did, I'm sorry for insulting your intelligence. I'm a girl. I have brown hair and grey/green/blue eyes. I like making stuff and learning about things. I'm short, but I don't let that get me down. I love my family and friends even if I don't see all of them that often. I love beans as well.
